Job seeking resources

The following resources may be helpful during your job search.

Service Center for Foreign Workers (SUA)

SUA is an organisation that brings together the PoliceLabour Inspection AuthorityTax Administration and UDI (Norwegian Directorate of Immigration) to assist foreigners to Norway with employment issues.

Career fairs

Career fairs may be useful for identifiying potential companies and organisations of interest. Fairs might not provide immediate job openings, but they can be very helpful for networking. Keep a look out for the Student Recruitment Fair, the Bergen Chamber International Career Fair or other fairs that occur annually in Bergen.

Trainee Vest

Bergen Chamber of Commerce’s Trainee Vest programme, a regional trainee programme for Bergen, may be of use for students who have some Norwegian proficiency. While some companies that work with Trainee Vest are open to having someone who works in English, participation in the programme itself requires basic Norwegian. Check with Bergen Chamber and/or UDI to be certain you have a visa that allows you to stay in Norway during the programme.

Work in Norway

The official Work in Norway guide may also offer useful information for international students interested in working in Norway.
